John Bluedorn is an Economist in the Advanced Economies Unit of the European Department. He joined the IMF in 2010, working in the Research Department’s World Economic Studies Division on the World Economic Outlook. Prior to joining the Fund, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Oxford and a professor at the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom. His professional and research interests include international finance and financial markets, fiscal and monetary policy, and economic development, with an emphasis on empirical analysis (applied econometrics). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
