Adolfo Barajas

Adolfo BarajasAdolfo Barajas is a Senior Economist in the IMF Institute for Capacity Development. Mr. Barajas has worked in the Regional Studies Division of the Middle Eastern and Central Asia Department and in the Western Hemisphere Department, where he worked on Central American and Caribbean countries. Prior to coming to the IMF, he worked in the Research Department of Colombia’s central bank, and at a private think tank, Fedesarrollo. He studied at Universidad de los Andes and Stanford University, specializing in macroeconomics and economic development. Mr. Barajas has publications on topics such as financial sector development and growth, monetary and exchange rate regimes, dollarization, depositor behavior and market discipline, determinants and macroeconomic consequences of workers’ remittances, and financial inclusion.
