Gaston Gelos is the Chief of the Global Financial Stability Division. Previously, he held various positions in the IMF Institute, the Research Department, and the European and Western Hemisphere departments, including as the Fund’s Resident Representative to Argentina and Uruguay. His research covers a range of macro-financial topics, and has been published in top academic journals. He holds a Ph.D. from Yale University and a “Diplom” from the University of Bonn.
