Mercedes García-Escribano is a Senior Economist in the Western Hemisphere Department of the IMF. At the IMF, she has worked on the teams for Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Austria, Spain, Malta, and currently works on Brazil. She has published papers on fiscal (with emphasis on decentralization), financial sector, and labor market issues.
