Srobona Mitra is a senior economist in the IMF’s Monetary and Capital Markets Department. She works on issues related to systemic risk, financial interconnectedness, and macroprudential policies, providing technical assistance and participating in Financial Sector Assessment Programs in various countries. In previous positions, she has led chapters in the Global Financial Stability Report and the European Regional Economic Outlook. She had also worked as a desk economist on Hungary and done cross-country analytical work on emerging Europe. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Washington in Seattle.
